Kinjo Sushi & Grill

"My husband and I had the worst experience at Kinjo Sushi. Our waiter lost our order and we had to wait for a very long time for our food as a result. Not all of the food we ordered was served to us either. When we asked for the bill we asked for a discount because of the wait and the owner YELLED at us. He screamed that we should leave and never come back over and over again. When I tried to explain why we had asked for a discount (we did not ask for a free meal) he ignored me, was rude and insisted that the chefs apologize to us. If he had just listened... We do not recommend this establishement to anyone. Obviously the owner makes too much money to care about his customers."

"We came for dinner with 9 people. The food was unreal. So good. However we were told they were "very busy" tonight and not a seat open in the place. That didn''t excuse the hour (yes, one whole hour) that we waited there without menus! The drinks and water kept flowing however for the amount of money you spend there, I think waiting an hour to look at a menu is ridiculous. However, I will still be back because of the food and I will expect to take up my whole evening."

Butterfield Acres Farm
254077 Rocky Ridge Road, calgary

1

"Animals are obviously neglected and not cared for properly. The emphasis is put on programs and service however the ideal of "education" and the teaching of compassion being the goals of the facility is quite clearly secondary to the collection or your entrance fee. Very cleverly disguised as a cutesy, children''s farm but nothing more than a cash grab with no ethics."

Signature Palace Restaurant
206-1919 Sirocco Drive Sw, calgary

"We ordered here for years and it was always consistant until more recently. The food can easily be too salty. And noticed less vegtables in recent times in our once full of vegtables "special chow mein" My husband got the worst food poisoning I have ever seen. He was sick for two days. Extreme chills diarraeh and vomitting for two full days. We know exactly where it came from because that was all he had eaten that day. We called the manager to let them know and their response was "not from here" and they really did nto care at all. I will NEVER order from here again"

Calgary Eaton Centre & TD Square

"This place needs to have its security guard enforce the smoking blylaws. There IS SINGAGE, but the smokers are puffing away right in front of the signs. Why can''t smokers read or count.??? The smokers (they they''re not BUMS but wel-dressed office workers) are puffing at shoppers and people waiting for bus, LRT or taxi. Will the city/province please start FINING somebody? I''m tired of breathing all the second-hand smoke!"

Metropolitan Grill, The
880 - 16 Ave SW, 2nd Floor, calgary

4

"Was here for a corproate event a while back, and and had a great time, wait staff fun and music was good. I went by the other evening. Too many smokers hanging right at the firont door. No bylaw signage (its 5 metres from the door right?)....Looks pretty creepy from outside (a shame), though one of the "bums" looks suspiciously like a Calgary writer and playwright. Bylaw offiers and bar owner take note! Even down-scale Melrose has signage & ashtrays."

Caffe Beano

"FINALLY! Beano''s has "No Smoking" sings on its doors. For the past few months the place looked like a homeless sheleter with all the bums hanging outside the door smoking. Must have been a bylaw officer by. :-)"

Caffe Beano

"Beano was our favourite coffee hangout for 14 years. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down since Janice purchased the shop 1 year ago. Prices are up, space is dirty, and staff (not all) don''t seem to care about the quality they are producing. Fortunately we have found a replacement coffee shop, and our $3000 per year coffee habit will be spent there instead."

"I ordered pasta and I find that the food tasted average. For a $25 meal, I''ve been to other places that can offer the same quality if not better. The problem came with terrible customer service. Service was slow and it took a long time until a server took our orders. I wasn''t in any hurry, so I didn''t mind it all that much. When the food came, my vegetarian friend found that there is meat in her meal. We quickly alert a server and asked to have it changed. The server was incredibly rude and questioning if we are literate. She stated that the menu has explicitly said that there are sausages in the meal and that she is not responsible for our mistakes. In the end, the server refused to exchange it and we had to order another item off the menu for our vegetarian friend. She had to pay for 2 meals when she only ate one. $40 is definitely not worth what she had. I would never come back to this restaurant ever again. Even McDonalds have better service than this place."

"Hostess looked me up and down and refused admittance; said there was a private function, when there were only three tables occupied; and, to further insult, she said, We do not have a bathroom. I said I did not come in to use the bathroom, and her reply was to quickly escort me out."

Reiko's Sushi Bar
Plus 15 Bankers Hall, calgary

3

"I do not understand why it is so difficult for the waitresses to apply common sense and basic service principles. Even during times outside of the lunch rush, the staff do not notice or acknowledge patrons walking in the door. Furthermore, there seems to be a language barrier when placing a basic order. From my own experience, on at least three occasions my order never made it to the kitchen and I waited for about half an hour before being told of the problem even though I attempted to confirm that my food was being made. I can understand a mistake if it happens once, but this problem is consistent and has not been improving. In fact, the service seems to be getting worse, and the only way to have a decent and quick meal is to sit and order directly from the chef. A similar comedy of errors happens when attempting to pay the bill. From the complex flipping of paper and heavy effort exerted on operating the debit machine, you would think that it was rocket science!"

"I almost always find what I need in the store, however very often I have problems getting help-there just never seems to be staff available to help me. Also, I found that the product advertised on the website has no where NEAR the selection as in store, which makes it difficult to pre-plan my budget without going in to the store, and as someone who does not own a vehicle, that makes it very difficult. Overall, will continue to shop there (like the Air Miles) but would like to see some improvement on the website in product selection."

McDonald’s Restaurants

"I ordered a hamburger, got a cheeseburger, ordered barbeque sauce, got sweet and sour sauce, ordered super sized fries, got one half full. I know this is a difficult order to fill but you are three for three. Tried to call a manager after I cooled down from home, the phone just rings abd rings, nobody answers. Thanks for the excellent food and quality service."

La Paella Spanish Restaurant
800 6 Avenue Sw, calgary

1

"The server was rude to myself and guest during our lunch visit. I paid the bill by credit card. When my monthly credit card statement came in the mail I noticed the server had over charged me by 100% of the original bill amount. I notified the restaurant of the problem and they gave me a 10% discount on the bill - an inadequate compensation in my opinion."

Renfrew Chrysler
1920 Bow Trail SW, calgary

"I went in for an out-of-province inspection on my Chrysler. Before the appointment, they quoted me $135 for the inspection (+ 5% GST), but when I got my bill, a total of $17.02 had added, apparently for "environmental fees". I asked the service rep what this fee was, and he mumbled something about tubes. Finding this suspicious, I called the service desk the next day, and the person on the phone told me that environmental charge was for rags. $17 for rags? Finally, I was put through to the manager who explained to me that this fee should not have been charged. She proceeded to say that this $17 enviro charge is automatically tacked on to EVERYONE''s bill, but the service reps are supposed to manually remove it for inspections. I rate this service centre low for the lack of knowledge of the service reps, and because they automatically charge $17 to each invoice, regardless of the type of service. I wonder how many other people have been over-charged for their inspections."

"Being a red neck white collar Calgarian, I can get away with stating that this place is Horseshit! For the price per plate, the value is not present. Best dish is their cheese plate, which comes with stale bread and a pasty attitude. I am eat out every night and live in a hotel, so I expect to serviced as other should, when they choose to spend on an evening out to relax. However, the evening was less than relaxing, from the slow service (only one waitress on staff - poor girl), to the spoiled wine served (she took it back without question), and finally the bland dishes for dinner, which could be made equally so by microwaving your favorite TV dinner. If this is your thought for a night of relaxation - stay at home, and draw a warm bath. Cheers."

"The food was not hot was the main problem!! The service was bad too; it was way too slow. Our dinner lasted for 4 hr 45mins!!! With the price we paid ($110), I strongly believe that we should have a better service and better food. My steak was burned, and it''s between warm to cold. The soup was too salty. I don''t think I will go back again."

Chianti Cafe And Restaurant
444-10816 Macleod Trail South, calgary

"After having had many wonderful meals at Chianti's in Willowpark Mall, last night's meal was just terrible. It started when we arrived for a 6:30 reservation (5 in the party) we weren't seated for 10 minutes. And that's okay - you can't always determine how fast people will be done ahead of time. But our waiter forgot to order the 2 soups, messed up 3 of the dinners - one with the wrong sides, one wrong order totally and one forgot to put in. The one veal dish was way overcooked and the veal in all the dishes was very tough. We might have considered going back again if they had offered to adjust the bill by giving us something - but not a word. Just thanked us for our patience. Don't understand why you have to obnoxious to get something for bad service and food. We were quite understanding - we weren't in a rush. One would have thought we would have gotten something. It will be a very long time before we go back."

"On October 11 I booked a reservation by email for my 1st Wedding Anniversary (October 25) and got a confirmation on October 12 from Alicia. I noted on the reservation request that it was my 1st Anniversary. On October 22 I got an email saying a private event was taking place and they canceled my reservation. No attempt at helping me find an alternative on short notice. Alicia just said "Fabio told me I had to contact you and cancel this reservation. It was against my will". This owner/chef has shown a real disprespect for people attempting to patronize his establishment."

Moti Mahal Restaurant
201-1805 14 St SW, calgary

"The service was fantastic, considering how busy it was, there wasnt an open table in the place. Drinks arrived reasonably fast, with a decent selection of wines, martinis, and beers. The appetizers arrived fast and were to die for, I recommend the tandoori goat cheese. The main course took about 30 minutes, but when it arrived, every part about it was amazing. Try the special plate, a mixture of lamb, chicken, prawns, and the best part were the sauteed onions, all served on a cool hot plate. mmmm. To sum it up, an excellent exprience all around, with the bill being in the $80-90 range with a nice bottle of wine."

Montana's Cookhouse Saloon

"The ribs and the meatloaf at Montana's are to DIE for but the Sservice at this location(if you can even call it "service") is consistently abysmal. Its an airport location with customers cathcing or just getting off a plane... you'd think fas service would be a priority... not so. Can;t get a wqaitress to take the drink order, the dinner order, and drink refills. We gave up a left before desert. Horrid... Mangement needs to get their asses kicked for lousy training and supervision (if there is any at all)"

Taste Of India

"I just ordered take out: The Butter Chicken was short on chicken and seemed thickened with flour and tasted accordingly . The Naan was chewy and cold. Suprisingly, the Pullao Rice was good, as was the Daal Maharani. The Magh Lai was a total rip off dish consisting of 6 small cubes of tough, chewy, what had to be mutton (listed as lamb) in a bucket of sauce. And oops, they forgot to garnish it with almonds as advertised. My total came to 36.19 before GST. I was charged 45.71, plus I had to leave the driver a tip, for a total of $50.00. When I ordered there was no delivery charge mentioned so I called to ask why I was charged almost $10.00 extra. The response was "Oh sorry, the guy who took your order is not here now. Sorry, there is a delivery charge. Sorry Magh Lai is a curry with meat and sauce (6 pieces for $10.25) Sorry, sorry". Then she hung up. I most definitely do not recommend wasting your money on this place. What a disappointment."

"This restaurant opened in 2006 (it was previously another coffee shop), but is poorly laid out & understaffed (with morning lineups snaking past the front door into/past the bathrooms), rather sterile looking, and a mess. I came after the lunch hour (2-ish) and the glass windows and doors were covered with smudges and looked filthy. The staff, however were pleasant and helpful and were obviously too busy to keep the place clean."
