Erin Woods Village is located north of Peigan Trail (42nd Ave SE) and west of 52 Street. The community is easily accessed from downtown via Memorial Drive and 36 Street SE. The area is convenient for those working in the Ogden and Foothills industrial areas.

Schools
Public school pupils attend Erin Woods Elementary at Erin Ridge Road and Erin Park Drive, or are bused to Harold W. Riley Elementary in Dover or Mountain View Elementary (on Sable Drive S.E.), Langevin Junior High (on 6A Street N.E.), and Forest Lawn High.

Separate board students attend Father Damien Elementary in Dover Glen, Holy Cross Elementary-Junior High in Dover, and Father Lacombe High at Radcliffe Drive and 36th Street S.E.

Shopping
The community has strip malls on the corners of Erin Woods Drive at 36th Street at one end, and at 52nd Street at the other. There are lots of retail stores on the 17th Avenue SE shopping district (also called "International Avenue". The nearest big shopping centre is Marlborough Mall and the 36th Street NE shopping area.

Recreation
Erin Woods community share use and maintenance of the East Calgary Twin Arenas. To the south is the Calgary Soccer Centre. About a kilometre to the northeast (access by car) is the pretty Elliston Park, with a 50 acre stormwater lake.

Builders
The community has been under development since the early 1980s, and has 260 lots left under development in the 2,200 home community. Home builders include Coco Homes, Glenwood, Sabal.


Homes
The community is mostly single family homes, with larger homes closer to the railway tracks in the west, and smaller starter homes in the eastern part of the neighbourhood.
