Homes: Glengarry, Killarney, Westgate, Wildwood

These communities lie on the flat area between Crowchild Trail and Sarcee Trail, and north of 26th Avenue SW. To the east (from north to south) are the neighbourhoods of Shaganappi and Glengarry, to the west lie Wildwood, Spruce Cliff, Westgate, Rosscarrock and Glendale Meadows. This area was built up in the 1950s and 60s, and has moderately-priced homes targeted at the city's middle class. The Westbrook Mall in the middle of the area was targeted at a value-conscious market. The community contains mostly single family homes, with a number of semi-detached, and townhomes. The homes overlooking the Bow River, in Spruce Cliff are the most expensive in this area.

Schools
This is a mature community with a full range of schools in the area, with full range of schools with both the public and Catholic boards at all grade levels. Mount Royal University is easily accessible at the southeast corner of the community.

Shopping
There are a number of stores along 37th Street in a couple of plazas, with Westbrook Mall is at the north end at Bow Trail. Richmond Square is at Sarcee and Richmond Rd in the northeast corner of the community. Recently, the new (and larger) Westhills Shopping Centre, kitty-corner to Richmond Square has attracted the major retail, dining and entertainment names.

Recreation
This community has a full range of athletic facilities. There are two golf courses, one on the north and one on the south edge of the community. The Bow River recreational pathways are easily accessible from Edworthy Park at the northwest end of the community. This park also has mountain bike trails and a long tobboggan hill. There is an indoor ice arena at Optimist Park on Sarcee Trail, and an indoor pool on 29th Street at 17th Avenue. The closest movie theatre is the multiplex cinema at Westhills.

Homes
The community is mostly single family homes, with some multi-unit condominiums scattered around the community. There are several high rise condos and apartments along 17th Ave SW, with some striking new buildings across from Weste Shopping Centre.
